Virginia & Truckee Railway -Carson to Virginia City
The V&T Railway was built in the 1800s to transport gold and silver ore, people, equipment, and supplies to the mining camps of Virginia City, Gold Hill, and Silver City. It was abandoned many years ago and it's rails removed. New track was laid on the old roadbed in 2009; Steam and diesel trains now carry passengers from the outskirts of Carson City to Virginia City.
