Turning Wheels for Kids 2006
"How long does it take to assemble 1000 bikes?? Weeks? Days? How about
just over 2 hours. This morning, in the South Hall of the SJ
Convention Center, about 300 volunteers including 34 ACTC club members
and friends completed the assembly of 1000+ bikes ranging from 26-inch
to 12-inch with training wheels. These bikes were picked up by the 8
local charities who will give them along with a helmet to disadvantaged
children. Locks were also included except for the small bikes. The
comment that I got from most of the ACTC team was "it was fun, lets do
it again next year". And hopefully we will. Thanks to all who
participated."
Well said Jim. Thanks for the good work. and for giving us an opportunity to help kids enjoy bicycling.
